Purple is the new blue!
Especially when we are talking about the artist Marcia Poirier and her natural royal purple seashell jewelery!.(..whose new 2012 work just arrived to our gallery from Canada Post today!)
She calls her business "Wild About Wampum", named after the ancient aboriginal currency made from the very same local quahog shells (that sometimes houses the rare hidden purple colours) as she uses today. Marcia collects her shells from all across Atlantic Canada and hand crafts her work at her studio in Cocagne, New Brunswick. They really are as she says " (Natural) Jewels from the ocean's shores!"
